Thank You Michael Jackson

Thank You Michael Jackson:
Dancing in my bedroom mix
Recorded afternoon of June 25 2009,
mourning through appreciation as I play
his tracks in my room today, just as I did as a child in NJ.
1 take. 1 moment. 1 Michael Jackson. 55:59
Download from ZShare
I learned about his passing and could feel the middle of my torso sink as i sat on my couch. It was shocking. The enormity of what he brought to the world felt and still feels so large. I'm so thankful for what he gave the world. A bright and sad life, as I see it from afar, I choose to reflect on the brilliant musical ability and shining spirit he expressed and captured on documented recordings for us to enjoy presently and into the future. I love what MJ added to my life and it would be hard to imagine my life without Michael Jackson. He was a part of so many moments. My first audio tapes were Mj Bad and La Bamba soundtrack. I danced as a kid because of breakdancers, and Michael Jackson. As I made it, I felt waves of emotion that, in the end, just made me give thanks. Feeling positive reflection on all of the music of his that I continue to discover to this day. A sentimental mix.

Nu Trishes Productions
It's been a long time, I know... but I prefer to blog when there's something worth blogging about. On that note, check out two recently released productions of mine:
I met the Audio Pharmacy dudes while out in San Francisco about three years ago, crashed on their couch a couple of nights and parttook in some jam sessions at the crib too - Good People! I was thrilled when we finally got together to do a song, and when I finally heard the result, it was amazing. Instead of just putting Ras K'Dees vocals on top of my beat, they made the song theirs by adding multiple layers of guitars and bass. 'Self Expression' just came out on their new album 'U Forgot About Us' and you can catch Audio Pharmacy on their European tour in Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and Barcelona in the coming weeks. Check their website for details!
In Austria, Skero is a legend. Member of Texta, the longest-running Austrian HipHop band by far, he has plenty of classics to his name. Although he has done all kinds of side projects before, 'Memoiren Eines Riesen' is his first ever solo LP, where he fuses HipHop with electronic sounds, Soul and Viennese folk songs. I am very happy to be part of this record, cause to me it's an instant classic. Even my German folks might have trouble understanding all of this, but please check it out anyway ;)Tuesday, June 16, 2009

radio3 cbc - New Music Canada Track of the Day
Posted by Lana Gay at 12:00 AM
Funny enough, another mother, Lauren Burrows, suggested I hear this track by Circle Research. It's the perfect track to listen to when pondering life or to just enjoy. It has a great beat, simple lyrics and is just damn fun.
I'd like Gil and Nik from Circle Research to meet Mama Gay, not only do they all have huge vinyl collections to chat about (maybe they could school her in funk and she could share some of her rare Motown collection). Since Gil and Nik are great producers and have been making beats since the early nineties, perhaps they could turn her great advice and one liners into sweet tracks like "Stop, Look... Listen to Your Heart".
